North Carolina Central moves back into top spot in Major Division while Benedict College Tigers remains atop the Mid-Major Division in week nine of HBCU-PSMA’s Black College football polls.
Pittsburgh, PA: The Eagles and Tigers continue their winning ways at the top of the Major Division of the HBCU-Pro Sports Media Association Black College Football Poll.
The Eagles, off their 62-28 win over South Carolina State, garnered 192 points and 12 first place votes holding down the top spot and were followed by Florida A&M, who snatched up the remaining eight first place votes, Tennessee State, Jackson State and Alcorn State rounding out the top five. Southern University, Alabama State, Howard University, Grambling State and Hampton University filled out the top spots. Alabama A&M and Prairie View dropped out of the top ten this week.

Meanwhile, Coach Chennis Berry and his Tigers of Benedict College are number one in the Mid-Major division. The Purple and Gold garnered 200 points and all 20 first place votes. They are followed by Virginia Union, Virginia State, Fayetteville State, Fort Valley State, Tuskegee, Allen University, Miles College, Johnson C Smith and Florida Memorial complete the top ten of the Mid-Major division.

The HBCU-PSMA
Established in 2021, the HBCU-Pro Sports Media Association is an organization of professionals providing multimedia coverage of Historically Black College and University sports, as well as professional sports.
The purpose of the association is to transform and empower the culture of media by providing informative broadcast stories, rich contextual reporting and inspirational photography of the marginalized by educating, inspiring, and informing a global community.
