North Carolina Central University Eagles and Benedict College Tigers hold steady at the top in week six of HBCU-PSMA’s Black College football polls.
Pittsburgh, PA: The Eagles of North Carolina Central continue their winning ways at the top of the Major Division of the HBCU-Pro Sports Media Association Black College Football Poll.
The Eagles powered by their 34-23 win over Elon garnered 194 points and 14 first place votes holding down the top spot and were followed by Florida A&M who snatched up the remaining six first place votes, Jackson State, Tennessee State and Hampton rounding out the top five. Grambling State, Alcorn State, Prairie View, Howard filled out the top 9 spots. There is a tie for the tenth spot between Alabama A&M and Southern, both schools picked up 21 points.

Meanwhile Coach Chennis Berry and his Tigers of Benedict College are flawless at number one in the Mid-Major division. The Purple and Gold garnered 196 points and 14 first place votes. They are followed by the only other undefeated team in all Black College football. Coach Henry Frazier and his Trojans of Virginia State are also 6-0 on the season. Tuskegee, Fort Valley State, and Virginia Union round out the top five. Albany State, Fayetteville State, Miles College, Allen University, and West Virginia State complete the top ten of the Mid-Major division.

Established in 2021, the HBCU-Pro Sports Media Association is an organization of professionals providing multimedia coverage of Historically Black College and University sports, as well as professional sports.
The purpose of the association is to transform and empower the culture of media by providing informative broadcast stories, rich contextual reporting and inspirational photography of the marginalized by educating, inspiring, and informing a global community.
